Grampian Mountains

 Kilometer
6800-7100

A few hundred kilometers north of the coast, about half way between Melbourne and Adelaide, the Grampian Mountains rise majestically into an otherwise flat and featureless Victorian interior. I spent a few days here walking, camping, and hanging out. By far the highlight was the excellent four wheel driving into the remote regions of the park.

Various scenes from the National Park

My campsite atop a very big mountain accessible only by the steepest of four wheel drive road called the "Goat Track". I camped out and then went for a walk in lightly forested bush the next morning when I came across this interesting cave and what I now know to be Aboriginal art work lining the interior.
