The Tasman Peninsula, home of Port Arthur, is home to the infamous prison. This is where the worst of the convicts, the "convicted of the convicts" were sent. The beautifully landscaped gardens and stunning natural scenery are well worth a visit. Make sure you take a "ghost tour" of the grounds at night -- the stories and spooky places are definitely a memorable experience.
