During a four day trip to Vegas with my mom, I went to visit the incredible Hoover Dam. An hour outside of Vegas, the monstrous engineering feat is truly impressive. If you visit, make sure to catch the video on the building of the dam and take the tour. The dam provides enough electricity to power the needs of over a million people and it also serves to control the raging fury of the Colorado River. It's only an hours drive from Vegas and well worth a look.
